Think about the initial presentation Sam, George, and Rameck hear about the program at Seton Hall. What were some of the benefits of this program? What were some of the sacrifices they would have to make to participate? Have you ever heard of programs like that? Would you ever consider being a part of such a program?
The benefits of that program is that it is free and at a good college, also they can get away from the violence and dangers of living on the streets of their home town. The sacrifices they would have to make to participate are not being able to stay with their families to basically support them, another is leaving their friends behind, even though they are a bad influence. I have never hear of programs like that before and yes i would participate in them if i had the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits to this program are great, they get to go to college and get a full degree for free, and they also get to embark on an experience of leaving the crime filled streets of Newark together. There is one main sacrifice and that is that they are leaving their families. They also have some other little sacrifices such as their curfew and how much time they need to study and go see a tutor. I have not heard of anything like this beside for our schools CCP program, however if given the opportunity I would take it.
ReplyDeletethe benefits of this program is that it is free yes i would attend a preogram like this a free education is a free ticket to life .they would have to leave their family and all there friend at home yes i have heard of programes like this they help get you some of the money you would need for college.
ReplyDeletethe benefits of this program was that they were able to attend a meeting and that meeting was good for them because it gave them information about college and that made them realize that they wanted to go to college and make something out of their lives. In order for them to go to college they will have to make decisions they will not like. Like leaving their friends behind but they wont have a problem with that because they don't understand them. i have never heard of a program like this but i wish there was one because this is a good opportunity for us.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program were that they had the possibility to go to college for free. It was a good chance to learn more information about college. They could leave the crime of Newark and embark on something greater, without the risk of jail time and not have to lie there way through life.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the organization of Seton Hall was that they have an ideal career they would like to have in the future. The sacrifices they had to make was to isolate their selves from their friends back in Newark if they wanna peruse they're dreams. Yes! I have attended an organizations like this. I like the experience. It helped me pin point the career that I wouldn't like to achieve in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program were that they get to go to college for free. the were given thee chance to better their lives and experience life outside the ghetto. They were going to be able to be be in a good environment. the only bad part is that they will be living other friends and family behind, but to me that sacrifice i would be willing to make.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program at Seton Hall was that it would be free to go to college. They also could stay out of the streets and keep themselves out of trouble by their hometown surroundings. The program at Seton Hall also gave them information about colleges. Finally it makes them make the right decisions.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program that the lady in the book was talkin about was that if you went to the college that she was talking about you wouldnt have to pay for student loans or etc. But you would have to go for a little bit longer then most schools. But you would also be leaving family and friends behind but if it was a good school and if i wouldnt to be in a profession that is at that school then i would make that descision and go.
ReplyDeleteThe good benefits of this program is that their getting a good education and be free to go to college, rather than being on the streets making bad decisions. The sacrifices that they would have to make is that they would not be able to stay with their family and friends. I had never heard of a opportunity like that, but if i had a chance to get a good opportunity like this one, i would defiantly take it.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of that type of program was that they would be able to go to school for free and stay together. They know that there is a good basketball team there if they wanted to play. The sacrifices they might have to make is if one of them cant get into the school they wont be able to go there together liked planned. They all will need to do alot of paper work in order to go there. I haven't heard of a program like that. I would do that program because its a free education that i will need and the school is a good school i can now save that money for when i need it most.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program, was that it was free! They also, were able to stay together and even be roomies.Yet they had to sacrifice being away from home, they also had to definately stay focused and serious about their work and try not to slack off. I have heard of programs like that, who wouldnt want to attend such a benefitial program that was free? I would definately attend something like that.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program are going to a good school that keep them out of trouble, sticking them together, prepping for college, and it was all free. The only sacrifices they made was spending longer hours in school and not being with their old friends who were pulling them down a road of bad decisions and drugs. I haven't heard of a program like that but if I did I would go for it if I get the chance
ReplyDeleteTheir were lots of benefits for the program at Seton Hall. The boys would get to go to college and become doctors just like they wanted. They would get financial help also. They'd be able to stick together and stay out of trouble by focusing on their education. I've never heard of a program like Seton Hall but If I got the chance I would attend something like it. It's a good opportunity and would help me become successful without putting me into dept. Why turn it down?
ReplyDeletesome of the benefits is that Seton Hall was "dedicated to training more minority students to enter medicine as doctors through a program that provided free tutoring, counseling, and other support".they will also get financial help from The EOP. They will be making a huge sacrifice. the boys will have to leave all that they ever know and begin a new life with big dreams. I haven’t hear of any programs like that before but am sure there is some, and when I have the opportunity to come across one I will be grateful and take it. It will save my parents a great deal of money.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of the program is that you can with train medical professionals to staff hospitals and clinics in urban areas. The benefits are financial aid, free tutoring, counseling, and other support. they are making huge sacrifice because they will leave all that they know in Newark, they're life, family and most of all friends. Yes i have heard programs like that and i know that they will be a big help to you and of course i would consider a program like that because its extra help.
ReplyDeletebenefits in these programs were that they had free and got into a successfulness in college, and the could stay out of gun violence. some of the sacrifices they had to make were not being able to stay with they parents but to support them, leaving friends behind. I never heard of programs like this and i maybe would.
ReplyDeleteThere were many benefits for the program. For example the program would provide money for tuition and housing, counseling, tutoring, assessment testing and more. The program would accept students based on high-school academic records, teacher recommendations and, personal interviews. This would mean they would have a chance to get into college for free and is one step closer to fulfilling their pact.
ReplyDeleteThe program at Seton Hall offers many benefits. The program would be free and have a good chance of education with everything needed to make it even better. The program would keep them away from the streets and hanging out with the wrong people. They would be leaving behind their boys. No, I've never heard of any program like this, but if there was I would probably take that chance.
ReplyDeletethe program is a very good thing the benefits are probably really good and it takes alot to make something of your self in this life you have school family who your afraid of letting down and people that are a big part of your life...ive never heard of this but i would take it
ReplyDeleteThe program at Seton Hall is a great opportunity. The boys would get help becoming doctors, money for college, and tutoring. The boys wouldn't have to give up much, but would have to mske school the most important things in thier lives if they wanted to be succeddful and get into, and stay in the program. I have heard about progrrams like this and have partiicipated in some, and it was fun.
