  1. A "few good examples" Rameck describes on pg 72 are that either if they got accepted or not, what did have to lose? there was other places they got accepted to but this, by far, was the best way to go. Another is that the program was free so they didn't have to put out any money to get a good education, to get a good promising job. Even though Rameck and Sam weren't really considering this, they finally came to their senses and realized that this opportunity wasn't one to pass up.

  3. Rameck had his Uncles, they were all doing something with there lives, unlike his father, who was a heroin addict. His uncles were into things such as, developing businesses and going to college. My father and Mother are my role models, because everything and anything i ask them about they've done or know people who have done it. So i trust their judgement and listen to what they say is acceptable and what isn't.

  4. On page 72 some of the good examples that Rameck shows is if he didn't get into this medical program with his friends that him and his friends would still go to college and have a future if they became doctors or not. And he was telling his friends that and the good thing was he had a plan.

  7. A few good examples Rameck had were his uncles and his friends. Rameck's uncles all had jobs and were succeeding in life. Rameck's friends, Sam and George, were all going to college to become doctors and were encouraging Rameck to do the same. My mom and my dad are my role models. They've always been there for me, encouraging me to succeed and have always been there to provide for me and my sisters.

  8. A few good examples Rameck discribs on page 72 are his teachers. His teachers pushed him to do well, work hard, and not to give up. His friends also pushed him they told him even if they did not become doctors they would keep going on with college and do something with there lives.

My Rolemodel is my sister not because she has done great things like go to college and such things, but because she has not and is still strong. I look at her and see how she made mistakes in life that I now know how to avoid, and that even if I do end up making mistakes as her I know that I can still be strong. FAILURE ISN'T FINAL.

  10. A few good examples Rameck discribes on page 72 are his teachers. His teachers pushed him to do well, work hard, and not to give up. My role model is my mother, not because she is my parent, but what she represent. She's a hard working mother. Also she provide for our household, she always there when I need her for anything. Also she always keep me on track when she feel that I'm slacking on my school work, she always know what to do during hard times. My mother is a lovely strong women, and I wouldn't change my mother for any mother in the world.

  11. A "few good examples" Rameck talked about on pg.72 is, if they get accepted or not. Also he said that they can all go to college and be successful andbe somebody in life. Another reason he came up with was, he said they didn't have anything to lose by applying to college.

My role model is my friend John. He lived in a bad neighborhood all his life, where people constantly told him he would never amount to nothing. But John said " ok, watch where im am going to be in five years and watch where your are going to be". When those five years came around he was graduating highschool wit the highest honors. The other person was in jal for aggrivated assault charges.

He said he had all ready planned on going to college w/ some other friends. My role model is my Father. He's always there w/ some inspirational words of advice and he never puts me down

  16. Ramecks role model was his uncles. somehow his father got caught up in becoming a man he never thought we would have become, a heroine addict. unlike his uncles he made a living off smoking his life away & not be able to provide for his child. His uncles had a huge impact on his life. my role models would be my cousin steve & my mother. steve does whatever he has to do to provide for his family, no matter the circumstances. i love him so much.. My mother on the other died when i was five, but i will never let her go. she was the family bonder, she kept us close together. I take on most of her roles, my day says.

  17. Rameck, unlike some other kids in this book, had a few good role models such as his uncles. They were the ones that were actually doing something in their lives. His father on the other hand was not. He was more interested in drugs. A role model in my life is my father. He's always there for me when I need him and i know that i can always count on him.
